All persons named as authors should meet all the following criteria: The participation of each author in work should be sufficient to take responsibility for its content. The right to be called an author bases on: 1) a significant contribution to the concept and structure of the study or the analysis and interpretation of data;  2) writing the text of the article or making fundamental changes;  3) approving the final version. The information about contribution will be published together with the resume. Family authorship is unacceptable. If there are namesakes in the article, you must indicate this in the cover letter or send a message to the editor to avoid misunderstandings. More information about the authorship criteria is on the ICMJE website (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors).
  2. The title of the article. The title of the paper should correspond to the content of the article. It should be clear and concise.
  3. Affiliation. The affiliation includes the following data: the full name of the institution, departmental affiliation, the full postal address (including the zip code, city, country). Main body of an article

The structure of articles should correspond to the IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion). The structure of the original articles includes the following sections:

  • Introduction. Substantiate of the novelty and significance of the research, the need for its implementation.
  • The purpose of the study. Describe the purpose of the work briefly.
  • Materials and methods. Describe in detail the procedure of selecting laboratory animals for observation and experimentation (including control groups), indicate their age, gender, and other essential characteristics. Specify a description of the methods, equipment (in parentheses suggest its manufacturer and its address, country, city), all the procedures in detail for other researchers to easily reproduce the study results. Give links and a brief description of already published but not yet well-known methods; describe the new and substantially modified methods, justify their use, and evaluate their limitations. Specify all the drugs and chemicals, including their international name, dosage, and administration method. Reports of randomized controlled trials should contain the following points: information about the protocol (the study population, treatment or exposure methods, outcomes, and the rationale for statistical analysis), the purpose of treatment (methods of randomization, concealing the formation of treatment groups) and methods of masking (providing blind control). Literature reviews should include a section describing the methods used to find, select, obtain information, and synthesize data. Give these methods in the summary too. Indicate whether laboratory animals' content and use complied with the institution's rules, the recommendations of the National Research Council, and national laws.
  • Results. Present the results in the text, tables, and figures in a logical sequence. Do not repeat all the data from tables or figures in the text; highlight only important observations.
  • Discussion. Highlight novel and essential aspects of the study. Do not repeat in detail the data already provided in the Introduction or Results. Discuss the possibility of applying the results in further studies, their limitations. Compare your observations with other studies in the field. Link the conclusions made to the study's objectives, but avoid unfounded statements and conclusions not fully supported by the facts. Present your hypotheses when it is justified, make it clear that these are only hypotheses. Include sound recommendations in this section.
  • Limitations. Any original research has certain disadvantages in the form of limited possibilities of using the chosen research methods, characteristics of research objects, boundaries of the subject of the experiment under consideration. The limitations of the study may also open the prospect for further study of this issue. There are quantitative and qualitative restrictions, ethical restrictions, restrictions in the choice of research methods, the duration of the study period, sample size, the number and quality of literature sources on the issue under study, etc. Disclosure of study limitations does not reduce the contribution of the authors to the study of the problem and does not reduce the value of the study .
  • Conclusion(s). Write this section based on the objectives of the research and the results obtained.

In non-original articles (reviews, discussions, lectures, brief reports), the author(s) may make sections at their discretion. Still, they should not repeat the original article sections, except for general ones (introduction, conclusion). There is no need to repeat this structure in the resume.

Also, you may place statistical reports, articles in socio-political newspapers and magazines, author abstracts, dissertations (if it is not possible to cite articles published on the dissertation research results), and the author's comments.

References

The journal “Meditsina truda i promyshlennaya ekologiya” accepts references formatted in the Vancouver citation style only.

Make out all works in the order of their citation. Place bibliographic references in the text of the article in square brackets. Check and number the links carefully. Original articles should contain at least 20 and no more than 40 sources, no more than 80 in literature reviews. Minimum sources in the list of references should be 20. The bibliography contains publications for the last five years in addition to the actual works. We recommend that authors refer to those materials that are available to a wide range of readers.

The list of references includes only peer-reviewed sources (articles from scientific journals and monographs) mentioned in the text. Do not include unpublished citations, abstracts, dissertations, textbooks, information from websites, statistical reports, articles in socio-political newspapers, websites, blogs. List these sources in a footnote.

Do not cite your quotes except when necessary (no more than 3-5 references in the literature review).

Verify the links. Check the output data on the official website of journals and publishers. Submit reliable links from the Internet, indicate the full URL address and date when the connection became available.

Specify the source DOI, names of authors, dates, references to the heads of the publication, etc. In many modern journals, the article metadata has a section "For citation" with a ready-made link. In such cases, copy the entire text and paste it into the list.

Please note that it is necessary to copy the translation of data about the source, not to translate it using automatic translation. Databases do not consider erroneous translations in the titles of articles, names of authors, journals, and books.

How to write a reference list

The bibliographic description should include the first six authors. If there are more than six authors, then put “et al.” after the sixth author. Abbreviate the journal titles according to the style adopted in the Index Medicus. See list of journals indexed in Index Medicus through the NMB computer network (https://www.nlm.nih.gov).
